Happy New Year

Out with the old, in with the new!!! Two Oh Double One is finally here!!! :D
I never really made any new years resolutions let alone keep them, but this year I decided that I want to be more aware of whats happening around me. I admit that I usually blow things off but this year I want to notice small things that are looked over. The past year was full of experiences that changed me as a person, 2010 taught me a lot so I guess i'll sum it up in a picture:

The Zoo

Went shopping (again) with one of my friends and I swear to god its like the shops mitif8een ma3a ba3ath 3la mashroo3 7adee8at 7aywan... You walk in a store and you gotta watch out because of the dangerous wild animals (ladies) fighting over animal print... I'll show you what I mean

First of all, you have the ugly jacket

And our beloved blazer has officially fallen from grace... moving on:

giraffe print scarf (7aram 6aye7 3al arth, sar 3alai ti5ami6, in my opinion this was the okaist thing out there)

And this Lovely *sarcasm hat ( I actually thought this was a dead cat when I first saw it)

and the skirt... just reminded me of an episode of the flinstones :P

Just finished reading....

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

I've always been a Paulo Coelho fan but I never got around to reading The Alchemist until one of my friends recommended it to me. And I have to say.. it's a must read! I don't want to give away the plot but The Alchemist is about Santiago, a young Shepard boy's journey trying to pursue his destiny. It wasn't the journey Santiago took that fascinated me, it was what he learned on the way. It made me realize that we all have a calling, a destiny we are meant to pursue. As we get older, we begin to get distracted causing us to stray away from our calling making achieving what we were meant to achieve seen impossible. “We are told from childhood onward that everything we want to do is impossible. We grow up with this idea, and as the years accumulate, so too do the layers of prejudice, fear and guilt. There comes a time when our personal calling is so deeply buried in our soul as to be invisible. But it’s still there.” (vii)

We had tuesday as a break because of hijri and seriously thats how a normal week should be like, school/work
4 days a week and 3 days off, its fair don't you think?
Kuwait won the gulf cup making it 10/20 ! :D
But..... There was this huge fight in Dewan il7arbash where the niwab got beat up by il8iwaat il5a9a,Anyways! It's a long story and im pretty sure you guys know it but it makes me sad to see that this is going on in my country and these are the actions of the people who are supposed to be mature adults.
Lets try to stay positive though... I absolutely love how Kuwaiti's are taking over Youtube! :D
And then we got people writing/making books. A lot of art exhibitions are happening, i recently went to Mohammad Qambars 'scent of jasmine' exhibition and loved it! Theres a lot of talent out there thats  slowly coming out and im pretty excited to see what else Kuwaiti's got in store for the world!
This week (aside from the fight thing) I am truly proud to be Kuwaiti!

Fifa World Cup

Will be held in Qatar in 2022! :D Gives us something to look forward to. At first people were worried about hosting it in Qatar because of the harsh weather but now they're taking action by building a temperature controlled stadium to host the event. Mabrook Qatar! :D
