  • Your sociable nature expresses affection, kindness, and thoughtfulness to the extent that it is difficult for you not to be affected by others and governed by your emotions, rather than by logic and reason.

Kuwait Liberation Day

So if you live in Kuwait you've seen all the lights and decorations, its kinda like christmas decorations put up, and the lights on peoples houses all look beautiful at night! I have a confession to make.. I like liberation day more than eid or any other holiday because people get so into it with the clothes, fireworks, decorations, and even the food! And the celebration starts at the beginning of February and lasts till it ends. It's been an amazing year for us because of all the breaks, and the big win, and who can forget about the 1000? il7amdilla 3la kil 7al, This post is dedicated to my beloved country Kuwait for the big five oh!

Daily Inspiration

People are never satisfied with the way they look. You have curly hair you want straight hair, you're white you want to be tan, you have freckles you want those gone etc. I think it's time for people (women especially but men too) to stop being such harsh critiques on the way they look! God created everyone beautifully and it's sad that the majority of the people I know aren't comfortable in their own skin. And it's even sadder because I know that these people are gorgeous beings. Embrace yourself, if you're happy it will show and happy people are beautiful and people like happy people so if x+y+z=xyz and xyz=beauty then  happy = beautiful! :D So do what makes you happy! Read, dance, go out, get your nails done, eat (dont over eat, big is beautiful but it doesnt mean you should eat you're way to obesity)
Over and out!

Book Review

It is only fair to say that The Witch of Portobello is one of the most interesting books I have ever read! Aside from the unusual plot, it was written in a unique way. Rather than having the entire story narrated through the main character, the book is told about Athena (the main character) through the people around her. Each chapter is of a different person narrating whats occurring in Athena's life. She constantly destroys and rebuilds herself and takes the reader along on her journey of self discovery. After she starts searching for her birth mother, she starts uncovering secrets of life (rather than her own). I don't want to give away the plot but it's worth the read so grab your copy!

My Favorite Product Ever

I am obsessed with my nails! They're manicured 24/7 and i'm very picky about the brands/colors of nail polish I buy. Seriously, I have a set I use only when i'm tan. Nail polish first came in the form of henna, it was used by ancient Egyptians to show social class (red being the highest). The Chinese used dyed gum and beeswax to coat their nails and the richer people would have their nails covered in gold or silver to show their wealth. In 1920, nail polish was introduces to the world! :D (wipes away tear)
Anyways enough with the history lesson (which I hope you enjoyed), My favorite nail polish is...
Revlons Teak Rose nail polish!
It goes with just about every skin tone and it's really pretty! It's not your typical hot pink or  (shoot me now) neon pink, it's classy and appropriate for all times and occasions. I see nail polish as a form of expression, the first thing I notice about a person is their eyes followed by their hands/nails (long, short, dirty, etc) You can tell a lot about a person by the way they maintain their nails and the colors they use. Teak Rose is a color that's really hard to find so if you ever find it, then grab it as fast as you can then start running to the cashier like a mad woman! ;)

Movie Marathon

Over break, i've managed to watch a whole lot of movies! It's the boredom kicking in.
When i'm not going out, reading, with friends/family, or painting, i like to catch up on the movies I missed because  I don't like to watch t.v and I hate going to the cinema. I'm too impatient when it comes to movies, I prefer watching them on my laptop so I can pause it, walk around the house, then go back to what I was watching. And every year I'll just spend a week to catch up on what I missed out on and this is what I saw:
I really liked Black Swan because it had a very different story plot than what we're used to seeing. It kinda creeped me out though but I still liked it!

The Bounty Hunter was ok, it definitely isn't on the top of my list though. I like Jennifer Aniston more in Friends.

I LOVE Katherine Heigl movies!!! Every movie she's in never fails to amuse me and this one especially was really cute! I guess you can count it as a chick flick minus the cheezy 'we're so in love' scenes so it should be more bearable for the guys out there. But the only thing I thought wasn't realistic was the part where the pediatrician Katherine Heigl is dating tells her she's meant to be with Josh Duhamel, seriously what guy would say that and in a calm way?

One of the bests movies I've seen this break! The plot steers away from the cliché things we're used to watching which makes it interesting because the viewer truly doesn't know what to expect! The only part I thought was a bit tacky was when the girl was stuck in the 'In Between'. Otherwise the movie overall was really good. What I also liked was that the author obviously researched a lot about the time era because in the late 70's lots of young girls went missing and thats when they started printing missing faces on milk cartons. I remember seeing those back when I was in elementary and when I'd go to Walmart. And the person who picked the casts wardrobe nailed it!

Cute movie, first crush sort of plot. I liked the innocence in it, you don't see a lot of it nowadays. This was also one of the best movies I saw (this break).

I am a HUGE fan of the Ramona Quimby books! I have all of them and they
(and the baby sitter club books) were the only books i would read so I was freaking out when I heard they were making this movie! :D
Usually when a book gets turned into a movie it comes out really cheezy and makes you hate the book, but not in this case! Joey King was a perfect Ramona! Just the way I imagined her to be. And im glad Selena Gomez was casted as Beezus because when you read the book it's from Ramona's point of view so it kinda makes Beezus a hard to like character.
I also thought they had a great sountrack and its a great family movie night movie!

I was at a Shirley Temple movie marathon at a park (obviously not in Kuwait) :P
I love classic movies so I stayed to watch, only got through two though. I've seen Curly Top before and it's good, Shirley is so cute in it! But 'The Littlest Rebel' had a few racist scenes that most of the audience seemed to miss. It was an okay movie but it bothered me how they'd have her paint herself black, mocking her slaves for humor. It was completely unnecessary. And, the time period was during the civil war and the movie favored the south over the Yankees which doesn't make sense seeing as slavery is wrong..

No... Just no.

Again... This was another dissapointment.

I absolutely LOVED the wardrobe in both 1 and 2! They had some very nice pieces which added to the Glitz and Glamour of living in L.A and New York. They both make really good girls night in movies! The story in the second movie was better though.
Just became my favorite Disney movie! This is the second time I watch it! I love how in this princess movie, Rapunzel is funny, spunky and fierce and she saves herself rather than being all dainty and dependent on other people (men). I really don't like cartoon movies but this was done really well, im actually surprised at how advanced they're becoming! ( i know i sound like im 70 :P )
