2011 -My Year In Pictures

2011 has been one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride. So many life changing things happened to me this year. It's had it's ups and downs but in all, I feel blessed to be alive.

Some of the things I won't be able to ever forget are:

Got a pet cat called cat. Lasted for 3 days.
Walked around Mubarkiya in a thoub. The black and gold shiny one, and actually had fun.
Broke into that giant ship they keep on display at Sharg.

Kuwait: A Staring Nation

You're walking. Minding you're own business. Then you feel someone staring at you. Their glare burning through your back. You turn around and no doubt you're being stared at by some random stranger who's gawking like you're running around the place doing cartwheels and backflips. When in reality you're just standing there. You stare at them. Staring at you. And before you know it, you find yourself engaged in a staring contest with a stranger. I'm pretty sure all my Kuwaiti and Kuwaiti residing readers are thinking "Been there. Done that." But why? Why's everyone so obsessed with being in each others business and staring till it gets awkward.
Driving on the highway, and suddenly the road's blocked. An hour or so later, the cars in front of you start to move and the cause of traffic is revealed. Everyone decided to stop and stare at two people arguing on the street. Laish ya7afeth? Just drive on!
Once upon a time.  When I was younger, and we'd go out to eat. If I ever caught someone staring, i'd open my mouth real wide and show whoever's staring what i'm eating. I quit that vulgar habit but sadly people haven't stopped the awkwardly obnoxious staring. Now I just smile creepily or go cross eyed depending on who's doing the staring. Tell me my lovely readers, been in any staring contests lately? Have a story you'd like to share?

7061 -A fashion line By Shaikha Al Houti

At university, sitting outside, I overheard two girls discussing a fashion related subject that sparked the ligafa side in me. I joined them, and listened to Shaikha Al Houti enthusiastically talk about her fashion line 7061. Not knowing what she was talking about, I asked her what "7061" is, and she explained her clothing line at 52 degrees and the services she offers. They officially launched their website on 11/11/11 and on the 11th of every month, a new collection is released. The snakeskin purses and dresses are my favorite items from the collection. She offers a service where you can arrange a meeting with her, and customize the dress, to have it fit you perfectly. The clothing is simple yet elegant. I'll leave you with some pictures to do the talking!

Check out their official site 7061.co for more items from the collection, and their Twitter to find out about sales and new items.
*There's currently a 20%-50% sale!
